Clarion Gaming is setting new dates for the ICE and iGB Affiliate London gatherings. Clarion Gaming will continue to talk over the holiday season about new dates for the ICE London and iGB Affiliate London events in 2022, while industry groups have shown support for the rescheduling of the events.
Clarion Gaming is deciding on new dates for the ICE and iGB Affiliate London gatherings.
Discussions will be shared in the early part of 2022, when thorough examination of possible dates will be finished.
In a message to exhibitors, Clarion Gaming’s head of operations, Stuart Hunter, said the company has been working closely with London ExCeL to find new dates in April.
“We have made good progress in the last few days and now have a preferred date that we are working towards, but we need some extra time to deal with some operational problems before we can confirm the final date to you and the broader gaming industry,” Hunter explained.
“This work will need to continue over the Christmas season and we will then announce the final date in the first week of January.”
He said that following the announcement last Friday (December 17) that each event would be postponed from its originally planned date, Clarion had hoped to confirm new dates today (December 22).
The ICE exhibition, initially planned for February 1-3, and the iGB Affiliate London event, which was to follow from February 2-5, will be delayed.
Nevertheless, delaying large-scale events like ICE and iGB Affiliate London is a “major obstacle” that demands collaboration with each show’s contractor network and other UK entities that have leases at ExCeL. Hunter clarified that this will guarantee that the global gaming sector can communicate with minimal disruption.
“I am deeply thankful for your ongoing support and understanding, and I anticipate working closely with you in the upcoming year to welcome you to ICE in April 2022.”
The choice to move the dates from their original schedule, in view of the constantly evolving situation caused by the Omicron variant, was approved by leading industry groups.
Marcus Prater, Executive Director of the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), stated that the supplier group appreciated “the careful deliberation that Clarion Events has given to the decision to postpone ICE.”
Prater added: “Worldwide gaming suppliers are eager to convene at a more suitable time, particularly looking forward to welcoming the international community, especially those from Europe, back to ExCeL and the ICE exhibition.”
The Betting and Gaming Council (GBG) also backed the decision. The GBG is a cross-industry strategic organization whose members include many of the leading brands on the exhibition floor.
The triumph of ICE London and iGB Affiliate London is more crucial than ever for the sector, stated Peter Hannibal, chief executive of the Betting and Gaming Council. Clarion has been a staunch supporter of these brands and a valuable partner for all in the betting industry.
Companies need assurance, and postponing the gatherings to spring 2022 is the most sensible course of action. It was a challenging choice, but I believe it’s the correct one, he continued. The Betting and Gaming Council and its constituents are enthusiastic to be a part of this global event, recognizing the diverse aspects of the betting industry.
Hunter expressed gratitude to the industry for its ongoing support and forbearance.
This is highly appreciated, and I eagerly anticipate collaborating with you in the upcoming year to prepare for ICE and iGB Affiliate London in April 2022.
