Catena Media Appoints Eric Eiton as Interim CFO in Leadership Reshuffle

Catena Media has reinstated a known figure, Eric Eiton, to act as its temporary Chief Financial Officer. Eiton formerly occupied this role within the organization in 2019 and 2020. He replaces Peter Messner, who has been serving in the capacity since April 2020 and declared his exit earlier this year. Messner will stay with Catena until June to guarantee a seamless transition.

Eiton contributes a wealth of expertise to the post, having dedicated 16 years to financial administration at both private and public entities, including ICA Gruppen and Invesco. Most recently, he functioned as a strategic consultant to an international media company. Eiton possesses a Master of Science degree in Business and Economics, with a focus on Financial Accounting, from Uppsala University.

Michael Daly, Chief Executive Officer of Catena Media, conveyed his trust in Eiton, remarking, “His vast career path and prior involvement at Catena Media make him a valuable addition to the executive leadership team.”

This declaration follows Catena Media’s recent three-year collaboration with Lee Enterprises. This strategic action will see Catena Media oversee all of Lee Enterprises’ brands, encompassing its primary website, frontpagebets.com. The alliance broadens Catena Media’s presence into fresh territories, including Missouri, Texas, Minnesota, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Catena Media is emerging from a robust year in 2022, posting earnings of €1.101 billion (£96 million), a 7% rise year-on-year.

At the beginning of the year, the gaming powerhouse GiG Group broadened its footprint by purchasing a collection of casino referral platforms from Catena Media.
