Choctaw Casino & Resorts Goes All-In On North Texas Sports Partnerships
14.06.2024
Beginning in 2017, Choctaw Casino & Resorts has significantly amplified its visibility within the North Texas athletic realm. They’ve invested millions in endorsements and collaborations, and recently secured agreements with three of the most prominent figures in DFW sports: Troy Aikman, Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, and Darren Woodson. These iconic sportsmen will serve as ambassadors for Choctaw over the next four years, a strong indication that the resort is pursuing substantial brand elevation.
“We are delighted to welcome Troy, Pudge, and Darren into the Choctaw family,” remarked Janie Dillard, Senior Executive Officer of Commerce for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. “These individuals are champions, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing them embody the Choctaw brand.”
This alliance is a logical progression. North Texas represents a substantial portion of Choctaw’s visitor base, and the area possesses a fervent enthusiasm for athletics. As Troy Aikman, Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee and ESPN commentator, expressed, “Choctaw Casino & Resorts is making a bold declaration. Being an Oklahoman, I am honored to participate.” This collaboration is a transformative move, and it’s evident that Choctaw is placing a significant wager on the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
The Arlington Renegades, victors of the XFL Championship in 2018, competed on their home turf at Globe Life Park, the previous stadium of the Texas Rangers. This venue is alternatively recognized as Choctaw Stadium, due to a sponsorship agreement.
Regarding Choctaw, they are truly making a mark on the Texas athletics landscape! Not only are they backing a celebrity golf competition (featuring renowned figures like Ernie Els!), but they are also collaborators with the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks, the AT&T Byron Nelson (a major golf tournament), the Dallas Marathon, Dickies Arena, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, Grandscape (a shopping and entertainment complex), the PBR (professional bull riding!), and the PRCA (professional rodeo cowboys!). Additionally, they provide casino and resort amenities.
Through a collaboration with former Dallas Cowboys icons Troy Aikman and Darren Woodson, alongside baseball legend Ivan Rodriguez, the Oklahoma-based Choctaw Nation is significantly elevating its presence in North Texas. This alliance brings their cumulative number of athletic partnerships in the area to a remarkable 24.
“I’ve enjoyed some fantastic experiences at Choctaw, ranging from guest appearances to watching football at their location in Durant,” remarked Darren Woodson, a defensive standout for the Cowboys during their Super Bowl era.
Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez commented, “Choctaw already has a successful relationship with the Rangers, so this partnership is a natural fit.”
